Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team in a full-time, on-site capacity. This role involves the design and development of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, with responsibilities ranging from 3D CAD modelling to technical documentation and product development. The ideal candidate will contribute to both new product innovation and support improvements to existing designs.

Key Responsibilities



Create detailed 3D CAD models and assemblies based on component specifications and datasheets.

Develop design documentation including specifications, technical reports, and supporting manuals.

*

Assist in the design and development of new and existing products, ensuring alignment with functional requirements and overall system architecture.

*

Conduct technical reviews and present design information internally and externally.

*

Perform basic engineering calculations and assessments to verify design suitability.

*

Select appropriate components, materials, and manufacturing methods through technical research.

*

Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and best engineering practices.

*

Support quality control and adhere to internal quality management systems.

*

Provide technical support for installations and problem resolution, both remotely and on-site.

*

Contribute to technical risk assessment, project planning, and continuous improvement activities.

*

Participate in wider engineering duties as assigned by the leadership team.

Desirable Experience & Skills

*

Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical design engineering.

*

Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Solid Edge preferred, but experience with other platforms is acceptable).

*

Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent) is preferred.

*

Strong analytical skills with a methodical approach and attention to detail.

*

Experience in areas such as mechatronics, actuator and gear design, materials selection, composite materials, electronics integration, or pressure-retaining components is advantageous.

*

Familiarity with producing Bills of Materials (BoMs) and engineering drawings to industry standards.

*

Comfortable collaborating across functions and engaging with customers where needed.
