Sales Executive and Account Manager
Our client is a leading international manufacturer and supplier of specialist industrial products, supporting customers across a wide range of sectors including manufacturing, logistics, food production, packaging, and materials handling.
The Role
We're looking for a commercially mindedSales Executive& Account Manager.
This is a varied role that combinesnew business development, account management, customer service, and sales administration. You'll be responsible for identifying and winning new opportunities, developing existing customer relationships, and ensuring customers receive an exceptional service throughout the entire sales process.
Experience within themetal industry, power transmission, conveyor belting, engineered products, industrial distribution, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering sectors would be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and win new business opportunities within your assigned territory.
- Manage and develop existing customer accounts, maximising sales and profitability.
- Build relationships with key decision-makers, engineers, purchasing teams, and operations managers.
- Conduct customer visits, presentations, and site surveys.
- Produce and follow up quotations, negotiating where appropriate to secure business.
- Manage customer enquiries and provide technical and commercial support.
- Coordinate orders and liaise with internal teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Maintain accurate records within the CRM system.
- Resolve customer issues professionally and proactively.
- Work closely with customer service and operational teams to provide a seamless customer experience.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and opportunities for growth.
- Deliver against agreed sales, margin, and business development targets.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience in Business Development, Account Management, Technical Sales, Internal Sales, or Area Sales.
- Proven ability to generate new business and grow customer accounts.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Experience managing quotations, customer enquiries, and the sales process from enquiry through to order completion.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong IT and CRM skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Highly Desirable
- Experience within:
- Metal processing or fabrication
- Power transmission
- Conveyor belting
- Bearings, drives, motors, or industrial components
- Industrial engineering or manufacturing
- Technical product sales
- Knowledge of Salesforce, Navision, Dynamics, SAP, or similar CRM/ERP systems.
