Business Development Manager – Composites / Defence Sector

Location: Cornwall (Hybrid or Remote options available)
Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 per annum + Bonus + Benefits
Contract: Permanent

The Opportunity
A leading UK manufacturer of advanced composite structures and tooling is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to help expand its footprint across the defence, aerospace, and high-performance engineering sectors.

The ideal candidate will have strong composites industry knowledge, a proven commercial track record, and established contacts within defence or adjacent markets. This is a strategic commercial role with autonomy to shape business direction and drive growth.

Key Responsibilities



Develop and deliver the commercial growth strategy for defence, aerospace, and composite manufacturing markets

Identify and convert new business opportunities and partnerships

*

Lead customer engagement, proposal creation, and contract negotiation

*

Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings

*

Collaborate closely with technical and production teams to align engineering and commercial goals

*

Maintain accurate sales forecasts and CRM data

*

Build and nurture long-term relationships with key industry stakeholders

About You

*

Proven experience in business development, account management, or technical sales within composites or advanced manufacturing

*

Network or experience within the defence or aerospace sectors

*

Strong technical understanding of composite materials and manufacturing processes

*

Strategic, commercially minded, and results-driven

*

Excellent communicator, confident at all levels

*

Self-motivated and comfortable working independently or remotely
