This is a rare opportunity to shape and influence supplier engagement from day one, acting as the key technical interface between internal engineering and the external supply chain.
If you're passionate about supplier development, technical quality, and driving performance across complex manufacturing processes, this could be the perfect next step.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical link between engineering teams and suppliers to ensure component manufacturability and compliance with design and quality requirements.
  • Conduct regular supplier visits across the UK (and occasionally Europe) to support technical issue resolution, process improvements, and performance management.
  • Work closely with Quality to lead root cause investigations, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement at supplier sites.
  • Apply APQP, PFMEA, and PPAP frameworks to define production processes and uphold product quality from the outset.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to integrate technical considerations into supplier selection and strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Participate in cross-functional reviews relating to design changes, risk mitigation, and supply chain readiness.
  • Travel is a key part of the role - approximately 90% within the UK and 10% to suppliers outside the UK.

    About You:
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering, supply chain, or technical procurement within high-integrity sectors (e.g. defence, aerospace, marine, or advanced manufacturing).
  • Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, PCBAs, coatings, welding, NDT, or composites.
  • Confident interpreting technical drawings, GD&T, and engineering specifications.
  • Skilled in supplier relationship management and effective at influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Comfortable working with ERP/MRP systems and engineering documentation.
  • Must be eligible to obtain relevant UK security clearance.

    Why Apply?
  • Shape a brand new role in a forward-thinking engineering business.
  • Gain exposure to high-complexity projects and suppliers across the UK and Europe.
  • Play a key part in supplier development, product quality, and on-time delivery.
