Design Engineer - Product Development

An established and successful manufacturer of precision plastic components, supplying a global customer base for over 30 years, is seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Setter to join its dynamic and expanding moulding department.

Up to £35,000, Day shift (8am - 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am - 1:30 Friday)

Working in a modern, well-equipped facility, you will play a key role in maintaining efficient production processes and ensuring consistently high product quality.

Key duties as an Injection Moulding Setter:

Carry out mould tool installations, start-ups, shutdowns, and material batch and colour changes.
Set machines using validated parameters and ensure optimal performance of tooling and ancillary equipment.
Collaborate with the Mouldshop/Production Manager to maximise efficiency, minimise scrap, and explore automation improvements.
Conduct and document mould trials and support the quality team with new tooling validation.
Perform planned maintenance on moulds and ancillary equipment and liaise with machine maintenance contractors when necessary.
Monitor moulded parts to ensure product quality during production.
Assist engineering in the installation and validation of new equipment and ensure a smooth transition into production.

Requirements for the role of Injection Moulding Setter:

Proven experience in a similar role within a plastic injection moulding environment.
Skilled in tool changes and setting machine parameters.
Strong problem-solving ability with experience in diagnosing and resolving moulding issues.
Good knowledge of polymers.
