This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative aerospace projects, with a focus on injection moulding and design.

Key Responsibilities:

Designing and developing technical parts and products using SolidWorks
Conducting cross-functional design reviews where required
Generating technical drawings in accordance with BS8888 and internal standards
Technical leadership of aircraft cabin projects
Overseeing work through the business workflow and into full-scale production
Processing drawing change requests in accordance with change management procedure
Reverse engineering components for product improvements or changes
Supporting and working closely with other departments of the business and suppliers
Creating documentation to support the design and certification of projects
Operating CMM and handheld 3D metrology equipment
Ensuring work areas are maintained to a clean and safe standard
Attending meetings as and when required
Attending any training programs internal or external
Supporting objectives set by the Design Office Manager and by the business
Supporting and instructing project team members
Performing general Design Office duties

Job Requirements:

Degree level, or equivalent experience in an engineering-related field
Preferably Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
Extensive experience of creating complex parts and assemblies using SolidWorks
Experience of creating basic 2D models and drawings in AutoCAD or similar
Experience in generating high-quality technical drawings to an internationally recognised standard, including the application of GD&T
Understanding of Design for Manufacture (DfM) of products with various production intents, including injection moulding, vac forming, sheet metal, machining, and composites
Proven experience of checking drawings from other engineers
Ability to find solutions to complex problems
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to work with a low level of supervision
Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required
Experience of PDM vaulting system
Experience of Autodesk PowerShape and stress calculation is an advantage
