Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £55,000-£60,000 per annum | Dependant on Experience
Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00–16:00 | Flexible hours available
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Duties:

Lead the development, optimisation, and support of advanced manufacturing processes
Drive continuous improvement across both new product introductions and existing production lines
Implement in-process controls to reduce variation and improve consistency
Conduct root cause analysis and corrective action planning
Identify and prioritise cost-saving opportunities
Propose, risk-assess, implement, and validate process changes
Support the introduction of new equipment and technologies

The Requirements:

Degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline
Proven experience in wafer-level processing, MEMS, or microfabrication technologies
Strong knowledge of manufacturing process development, SPC, and cleanroom environments
Skilled in failure analysis, FMEA, and statistical tools for defect reduction
Familiarity with metrology tools (e.g. SEM, optical profilometry, microscopy)
Experience delivering robust processes for both NPI and production
Ability to work independently, mentor others, and influence cross-functional teams
Desirable: CAD for tooling design, Python/MATLAB for data analysis, Six Sigma certification, experience in semiconductor or optoelectronic device manufacturing
