Location: Clacton-on-Sea
Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 per annum

Prime Appointments is working with an established manufacturing business to recruit a Senior Designer to join their technical team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced designer with strong technical skills in 2D/3D modelling, a background in structural or engineering design, and a proactive, detail-driven approach.

You'll be working across multiple departments to develop accurate technical drawings and practical design solutions that meet customer and production needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting project delivery, continuous improvement initiatives, and mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities:

Produce precise 2D and 3D drawings using Inventor, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD
Apply engineering calculations to specify structural components
Liaise with Project Managers, Production, and Engineering to resolve technical issues
Interpret client drawings and specifications with a high level of accuracy
Manage documentation and maintain drawing records in line with company systems
Contribute to product development and help maintain design libraries
Support and mentor junior designers as requiredRequirements:

Previous experience in a senior or technical design role
Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, structures, and specifications
Proficient in CAD software: Inventor, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD (BIM/Revit a plus)
Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organisation
Knowledge of GRP/composites is desirable but not essential
Familiarity with document control systems is an advantageWhat's on Offer:
