A global chemical and ingredient supplier requires an experienced National Sales Manager to drive sales across the UK. You will have distribution experience, supporting manufacturers and OEMs who produce anything from Plastics, Composites, Masterbatch, Rubber, PU and so much more.
 
BASIC SALARY: £55,000 - £60,000

LOCATION: UK - with the majority of the customers being based in the North West
 
JOB DESCRIPTION: National Sales Manager, UK Sales Manager - Chemical, Plastics, Rubber, PU
 
As our UK Sales Manager, you will be responsible for providing technical support to a new and existing client base supplying our customers with high quality ingredients and chemicals.
 
You will be covering the UK, meeting key decision makers including Technical Product Managers, Buyers and Heads of Department, understanding their needs and presenting suitable options.
 
This role is currently being managed by the Managing Director and another Director, and although active, growth has been achieved by reactive sales. We are not "just a supplier" we are a proud partner to our client base, trusted to deliver with the expertise and support our clients deserve.
 
This is a technical, chemical sales role and comes with a high level of autonomy.
 
Your main responsibilities will be:
 
· To be the first point of contact for initial sales enquiries within the Plastics, Rubber and PU Division
· Identifying new opportunities, establishing relationships, understanding technical requirements, and generating new sales, based on your knowledge and expertise within the chemical supply chain
· Managing 30 -35 live accounts with a turnover of circa £4 million, with a target of driving sales by 20%
· Reporting to the Director and being involved in all stages of the sales process with an 80/20 split between new business development and account management
 
PERSON SPECIFICATION: National Sales Manager, UK Sales Manager - Chemical, Plastics, Rubber, PU
 
As our National Sales Manager, you will be self-confident in your ability to provide technical solution-based sales to mainly OEMS and Masterbatch suppliers in the Plastics, Rubber and/or PU sector, who rely on our expertise and support to bring their products to life.
 
Experience within the sector is essential although candidates from associated backgrounds will be considered.

You will ideally be:
· Educated to Degree level within a science-based subject
· Experienced within the chemical distribution / supplier market selling B2B
· Confident in your knowledge and understanding of the Plastics, Rubber, PU and Masterbatch sector
· Able to identify and target new business to drive sales growth by 20%
