Based at a modern facility in Liverpool, this Furnace Manager role offers the chance to lead thermal operations within a pioneering manufacturing environment.
Your new role
As Furnace Manager, you'll be responsible for managing all heat treatment and furnace activities, ensuring optimum performance, quality output, and continuous improvement across thermal processes. Working closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams, you'll take full ownership of furnace operations and contribute to broader site objectives.You will:

Oversee day-to-day furnace activities including setup, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting
Manage schedules, equipment availability and throughput to support production targets
Ensure adherence to thermal process parameters and quality standards
Lead and mentor furnace technicians, promoting a safety-first and performance-driven culture
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new product introduction and process refinement
Drive improvements in energy efficiency, furnace reliability and process stability
Maintain accurate records of thermal cycles, temperatures, and outputs in line with audit and compliance requirementsWhat you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you'll need:

Solid experience managing furnace operations or thermal processes within a manufacturing setting
A strong understanding of heat treatment techniques and associated metallurgy principles
Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate a technical team
Experience working in a high-specification, quality-focused environment
Strong communication and organisational abilities
Familiarity with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma principles is highly desirable.What you'll get in return
