Job Title: Technical Engineer

Role Requirements

Responsible for maintaining all quality records, ensuring that the records are stored in their correct locations and to assist the Technical & Quality manager and Quality Supervisor in the day to day running of the quality system.

Duties and Responsibilities

To ensure standards of quality and workmanship to BS EN ISO 9001 & AS9100 are met at all times

To ensure all health and safety regulations are observed and maintained

To promote and encourage effective communication.

To assist in implementation of total quality and process improvement

To assist in checking of supplier and customer certification from the unapproved folder to the approved folder

To assist in the preparation of quality documentation and Certificates of Conformity for issue to the customer with the delivery of the parts

To assist in the maintenance of the Non Conformance Reports (NCR’s) Log and to produce the analysis reports each month for the Quality Manager. To ensure that the explanation reports from suppliers are obtained in a timely manner for review during the NCR meetings

The monitoring of corrective / preventive actions.

Undertake Quality Improvement investigations, either individually or on a team basis to solve problems. Monitoring incidents, trends emanating from information compiled to enable our performance to be continually improved whilst reducing the cost of quality

Produce Non Conformance Reports (NCR’s) as required to enable rectification or modification to assemblies or individual components to be performed whilst allowing the associated cost to be identified. Liaise with Purchasing and Production Control if the impact of the NCR will affect production or delivery

Liaise with Customers regarding concession, deviation and Non Conformance

Be responsible for the maintenance and monthly update of the calibration system

Internal auditing to maintain the QMS

Answer technical engineering queries/liaise with customers

Create Engineering ITP and MPQP’s

Competencies

Leadership skills

Commitment to log and report incidents

Competence and knowledge of all Group purchase specs and customer specs

Competence in Microsoft WORD package and HG IT systems, particularly Q-Pulse, Stelpan & HSE & Stelplan+

Competence in use of HG IT systems, particularly Q-Pulse, Stelpan & HES

Accountabilities and Performance Measures

To help in the implementation of Corrective and preventative actions as part of the NCR Procedure

To ensure that overall quality documentation of all products supplied by the company conform to our own quality standards as well as our customers

You must continually evaluate and initiate necessary changes in your departmental strategy to meet and exceed the needs of the business

Job Requirements Qualifications

Customer focus approach to maintaining departmental throughput to meet order due date

Degree level qualification in metallurgy or related discipline or 2 to 3 years related experience
