Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Working Arrangement: Fully on-site

We are recruiting an experienced Senior Buyer to take ownership of procurement and supply chain planning within a growing manufacturing division.

This is a hands-on role offering the opportunity to build and improve procurement processes, introduce greater structure and develop more effective ways of working. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day purchasing, supplier performance, inventory and material availability across direct and indirect spend.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage procurement across direct and indirect spend categories
  • Develop and implement purchasing, planning and supplier management processes
  • Lead supplier negotiations and develop strategic supplier relationships
  • Monitor supplier performance across cost, quality and delivery
  • Manage inventory and ensure materials are available to support production
  • Build and maintain manual supply-and-demand planning tools
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and support annual reduction targets
  • Introduce procurement KPIs and drive continuous improvement
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Finance and the wider Group Procurement team
  • Resolve delivery, invoice and supply-related issues
Experience required
  • Strong purchasing and supply chain experience, ideally within manufacturing
  • Experience improving or rebuilding procurement and planning processes
  • Hands-on knowledge of inventory and supply-and-demand planning
  • Confident working with manual systems and spreadsheet-based planning tools
  • Strong supplier management and negotiation skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge of ERP or MRP systems
  • A proactive and resilient approach, with the ability to create structure and influence change
  • CIPS qualification, or working towards it, would be advantageous

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building and improving a procurement function rather than simply inheriting established processes.
