REED Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Mnaufacturing company with a strong reputation on quality and growth.

Job Overview:

The Metallurgical Lead role is responsible for overseeing metallurgical operations, research, and development within the company. This position plays a key role in ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of metal materials and components used in our products and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead metallurgical investigations, including failure analysis and root cause determination.
Develop and optimize metal alloys and processing techniques to meet performance and cost targets.
Supervise and mentor junior metallurgists and technicians.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, quality) to resolve material-related issues.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal quality protocols.
Interpret and analyse data from metallurgical tests
Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.
Stay current with advancements in metallurgy, materials science, and relevant technologies.Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related engineering field.
5+ years of experience in metallurgical analysis, materials development, or process engineering.
Strong knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, alloys, and heat treatment processes.
Proficiency in metallurgical testing methods and characterization tools.
Knowledge of VIM and metal related processes would be highly advantageousPreferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO, ASTM, NADCAP.
Certification in failure analysis or materials testing (e.g., ASNT, AWS).
Knowledge of metallurgy and advanced manufacturing techniques.
Experience and knowledge of Aerospace and the Energy sectors would be highly advantageous including quality standards such as AS9100 etc Soft Skills:

Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking.
Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
