Vehicle Build Technician

Are you passionate about engineering, precision, and building vehicles to the highest standards? RML is looking for a Vehicle Build Technician to join our Production team and play a key role in the prototype and production phases of exciting automotive projects.

As a Vehicle Build Technician, you’ll work hands-on within a collaborative and fast-paced team, helping deliver world-class vehicles through meticulous assembly, attention to detail, and a drive for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble prototype and production vehicles and sub-assemblies to the highest standard, following build manuals and verbal instructions.
Provide hands-on technical support and guidance within the Vehicle Build Technician team.
Work from technical drawings, build instructions, and specifications to ensure quality and accuracy.
Collaborate closely with engineering and project teams to maintain schedules and contribute to continuous improvement.
Maintain a clean, professional, and safe working environment.
Support fellow team members and consult on build or quality issues as they arise.
Adhere to company Health & Safety, Quality, and environmental standards.
What We’re Looking For:

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

Prior experience in a similar role within Automotive, Motorsport, or Aerospace industries.
Proven track record assembling prototype and production vehicles.
Strong problem-solving ability and initiative.
Skilled in the use of handheld tools and working with precision mechanical / electromechanical components.
Extensive hands-on experience with full vehicle builds.
Broad understanding of vehicle systems from low-volume or Motorsport environments.
Desirable:

Level 3 Electric/Hybrid Vehicle qualification (IMI or equivalent).
Experience in craftsmanship assembly techniques.
Knowledge of electric systems and composite materials.
Fabrication and welding experience (MIG/TIG).
Skills & Attributes:

High attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and instructions.
Methodical, organised, and able to prioritise tasks effectively.
Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
Excellent communication skills and a team-first mindset.
Good computer literacy (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Awareness of Health & Safety, including correct PPE usage.
Flexible approach to working hours – overtime may be required.
A genuine interest in engineering and vehicle technology.
