The Opportunity Test Engineer

Location: Basingstoke
Reports To: Head of Strategy & Operations
Salary: £45,000- 50,000 plus bonus

The Role 

Test Engineer

We operate from a modern, clean environment to support customers in the commercial, space, defence, transport, audio, motorsport, and instrumentation sectors. We areopening a new world-class facility and are looking for new talented people to join us on this exciting journey.

The Test Engineer position is ideal for engineers who enjoy technical problem-solving, customer interaction, and product development support. We are looking for candidates with a strong technical background in electronics, particularly those experienced in both customer support and hands-on laboratory/test work.

Responsibilities of the Test Engineer

Provide technical support for component / part selection based on customer needs and competitor comparisons
    Conduct product testing (crystal screening, VCXO screening, S-parameter and phase noise measurements).
Interpret and respond to technical enquiries
Design and optimise impedance matching networks and troubleshoot component behaviour.
Investigate quality returns, identify failure mechanisms, and liaising with the customers.
    Develop demo boards, maintain lab safety and equipment.
    Developing and updating automated test systems.
    Contribute to technical marketing materials and customer outreach.Experience of the Test Engineer

Proven technical knowledge of crystal, oscillator, and filter components.
Hands-on experience with lab instruments such as network analysers, spectrum analysers, signal generators and oscilloscopes.
    Bachelors degree or higher in Electronic Engineering, Physics or related field.
    Strong knowledge of electronic components, especially crystals, oscillators, and RF filters.
    Skilled in troubleshooting and interpreting technical documentation.
    Effective communication skills for technical support and collaboration.
    Familiarity with quality assurance and failure analysis processes.Benefits of the Test Engineer
