Join Altro as a Technologist – Pioneering Innovation in our Resin Flooring Products

Altro is delighted to present an exceptional opportunity for a Technologist to join our dynamic Research & Development team, based in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire. In this pivotal role, you will lead the design and development of innovative products within the Altro Resins portfolio, ensuring the smooth transition from concept through to full-scale manufacture.

Our resins manufacturing facility is located in Maiden Newton, Dorset. To fully embed new technologies and drive continuous quality improvements, you will be expected to work on-site in Maiden Newton for one week each month.

You will be involved at every stage—from initial concept development to scaled manufacturing—ensuring all products meet the highest standards in performance, compliance, and cost-efficiency. Staying abreast of industry trends and regulatory developments is essential, as is effective collaboration with suppliers and customers to develop technical specifications and maintain full compliance with industry standards through rigorous testing.

This is a permenant, full time (37.5 hours per week) role where you will be mainly based on site due to the nature of the work.

    Who We’re Looking For:

    We’re seeking a motivated individual with a degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related discipline—or equivalent practical experience. A sound understanding of resin products and their applications in construction and transport sectors is highly desirable.

    You’ll bring experience in laboratory testing and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Proven problem-solving capabilities, a passion for product improvement, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams are crucial. Attention to detail, and a commitment to innovation, quality, and safety will set you apart.
