The role would suit Graduates with a degree in metallurgy, materials science or similar. You must have an interest in metallurgical processes and show an interest in wanted to improve processes. Graduates will industrial metallurgy or laboratory experience within a manufacturing or similar environment are encouraged to apply.

This a varied role, working within a foundry environment. On a day to day basis you will work closely with the quality and technical teams to review customer metallurgical drawings and develop specific work instructions for manufacture. You will ensure that a paper trail and traceability is present for all melting and metal processes. You will look to suggest improvements in processes where possible. You will support with production planning and operations departments to ensure production targets are met efficiently. You will be involved in microstructural testing using optical and digital tools. Further to this you will conduct any root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective actions. You will generate reports for customer returns and internal audits.
