Junior / Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer

📍 Location: East Yorkshire
💰 Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 (DOE)
🕐 Mon–Thurs 8:30–5:15, Fri 8:30–1:00 | Hybrid/WFH | 37.5 hours/week

Looking for a design role that’s more hands-on, varied, and technically rewarding?
This is your chance to join a UK engineering business that designs, manufactures, and tests technology for the defence, marine research, offshore energy, sectors.

The Role:
Working as part of a growing Mechanical Design Team, you’ll support the full product lifecycle—designing custom housings, fixtures, mould tools, and test jigs using SolidWorks + PDM.

Key responsibilities:

  • 3D CAD modelling and 2D manufacturing drawings

  • Designing mechanical components in steel, aluminium, bronze, and polymers

  • Producing BOMs and work instructions

  • Supporting prototype builds and getting involved in physical product testing

  • Liaising with suppliers and the production team

    The Person:

  • A Mechanical Engineering or Product Design graduate (or equivalent qualification)

  • Some experience with CAD design (university, internship or placement)

  • Confident with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software

  • A problem-solver who’s eager to learn in a fast-paced, hands-on setting

    Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary from ÂŁ26,000 – ÂŁ30,000 depending on experience

  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays (33 total)
