Purpose :

You will join a world-class team providing a unique resource capable of solving the most complex of metals processing problems. Whilst we are not looking for a Technical Specialist or Metallurgist, you will need to have proven experience of working in the aluminium or a non-ferrous metals manufacturing environment either in base metal production or product manufacturing. In an ideal world you will have an understanding of one or more of the following production processes - casting, extrusion, rolling, fabrication, recycling or finishing operations. You will be tasked with mapping out the aluminium manufacturing market globally and with identifying and contacting key players to introduce Innoval's services and to lead on the introduction of a specialist Innoval consultant who will be able to offer advice and support to that organisation.

The role will be based in a brand new, purpose-built facility on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Sheffield but the position will entail significant overseas travel to provide high level consultancy and technical services to customers in the global aluminium industry. Projects / contracts generally range from £5,000 to £100,000

It is envisaged that the Business Development Manager will develop to become one of the Senior Management Team playing a major part in the future success of Innoval.

The Role :

Mapping out the global aluminium manufacturing sector including base metal production and product / component manufacturers
Identifying and making introductions to the key players in those organisations, building relationships and gaining an in-depth understanding of their business and the challenges they face
Identifying potential areas where Innoval can offer support, consultancy or other services
Introducing a speciality Innoval consultant to the organisation
Leading with contract negotiations and pricing for projects
Delivering on agreed revenue and margin targets
Maintaining the CRM, ensuring that customer and prospect data is kept up to date and that opportunities are not missed

About You :

Ideally holds a degree level qualification in Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy or similar. We are also happy to consider people who do not have a degree but who are "qualified by experience"
Proven experience of working in the aluminium or non-ferrous manufacturing sector is essential, either base metal production or product. This will preferably be in a sales, business development or account management role
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to interact with both technical and lay audiences in person, in writing, by Teams etc
Proven technical report writing abilities
Naturally inquisitive
Analytical, able to thoroughly investigate an issue and then work with a technical specialist to develop and present suitable solutions
Strong IT skills with MS Office
Fluent written and spoken English language skills
Self-motivated
Able to work both individually and part of a multi-skilled team
Flexible to travel to customer sites when required. As customer sites are located globally, travel will play a significant part of the roleWhat is on offer ?
