The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Systems Safety Engineer to lead safety assurance for a major defence missile programme. You’ll manage hazard analyses, Safety Case Reports, and safety evaluation activities, ensuring safe-by-design outcomes throughout the product lifecycle. You’ll work closely with multi-disciplinary and international teams, balancing cost, time, and technical constraints to deliver high-quality safety evidence.

Responsibilities:

Lead hazard analysis, safety evaluation, and assurance processes for CAMM systems

Deliver Safety Case Reports and supporting evidence (FTA, Functional Failure Analysis, etc.)

*

Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams and international stakeholders

*

Balance cost, time, and technical constraints to produce convincing safety cases

*

Apply UK and international safety and systems engineering standards, especially Def Stan 00-056

Requirements:

*

Proven experience integrating hazard analysis and safety evaluation with systems engineering

*

Knowledge of complex electronic systems and associated safety issues (other engineering backgrounds considered)

*

Strong interpersonal, leadership, and influencing skills

*

Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary, multi-national team
