Structural Engineer

Derby 45K - 55K

We’re seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our growing team based in Ilkeston. You’ll play a key role in the design, analysis, and delivery of structural solutions for major infrastructure, tunnel, and building projects across the UK.

This role is ideal for an engineer with a solid understanding of reinforced concrete, steelwork, and civil structures — someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and contributing to technically demanding projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed structural designs and calculations in steel, concrete, and composite materials.

  • Perform structural analysis using industry software (e.g. Tekla Structural Designer, STAAD Pro, Robot, etc.).

  • Prepare and review technical drawings, models, and reports.

  • Work closely with design, civil, and M&E teams to deliver fully integrated solutions.

  • Conduct site inspections, condition surveys, and provide structural assessments and recommendations.

  • Ensure designs meet relevant Eurocodes, British Standards, and client specifications.

    Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a structural engineering design environment.

  • Proficiency in relevant software such as Tekla, AutoCAD, TEDs, or similar.

  • Working knowledge of UK design codes and building regulations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ideally Chartered or working towards CEng MICE / MIStructE.
