Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Copello have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical design projects within the aerospace and defence sector. You’ll work across the full product lifecycle, from concept to delivery, using 3D CAD, FEA, and CFD tools to develop high-integrity mechanical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead mechanical design for new and existing aerospace products

Produce 2D/3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings

*

Conduct FEA/CFD simulations to validate designs

*

Generate technical documentation and support certification

*

Oversee project tasks, schedules, and deliverables

*

Drive design/process improvements and support legacy systems

Requirements:

*

Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)

*

Experience in aerospace or defence design

*

Strong CAD and simulation skills (SolidWorks preferred)

*

Chartered or working toward chartership

*

Knowledge of BS 8888 and aerospace standards

*

Able to lead projects and work independently

* Experience with composites, materials, and sustainable design
