An exciting opportunity has opened for aJunior R&D Technologist to join a well-established manufacturing organisation known for producing high-quality, Polymer based products. This role is ideal for someone with a scientific background who thrives in both laboratory and production environments.

About the Role

The successful candidate will support the development and improvement of specialist polymer products. Working closely with the Quality & Development team, you’ll contribute to material evaluations, product enhancements, and ongoing innovation projects. This is a hands-on role offering exposure across R&D, production, and quality functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain safe and accurate laboratory working practices

• Support development activities across PVC and textile processes

• Understand raw material behaviour and how processing conditions affect performance

• Work effectively with production teams for problem-solving and technical support

• Manage R&D tasks within project timelines and budgets

• Research, recommend, and develop innovative product solutions

What We’re Looking For:

• Post-graduate education in a science-based discipline

• Experience within a laboratory, technical, or manufacturing environment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to interpret test data and draw meaningful conclusions

• Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail

• Confident communicator with a collaborative approach

• Curious, proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and get hands-on

Role Details:

Salary: £37,500

Bonus: £1,500

Hours: 36.5 per week

Working Arrangement: Fully site-based in Derbyshire(no hybrid/WFH)
