Inspire Resourcing Ltd are working with a client exclusively to find a Plant Team Leader who understands the requirements of running a department.
Location: Chesterfield (outskirts)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:00am–2:00pm
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Metallurgy Plant Team Leader to oversee day-to-day operations at our clients Chesterfield facility. The successful candidate will ensure production targets are met, quality standards are maintained, and health & safety procedures are strictly followed.
Duties:

  • Supervise daily operations of the shop floor (plant environment), ensuring smooth workflow and efficiency
  • Lead and manage a team of operatives, providing guidance, training, and support
  • Monitor production output, quality, and compliance with specifications
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure adherence to health & safety standards
  • Organise shift schedules, allocate tasks, and manage attendance
  • Liaise with management on production planning, resource needs, and performance updates
  • Maintain accurate records of production, quality checks, and reporting systems
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions
    Requirements
  • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing or plant environment (Metals, Laboratory, plating, welding, metallurgy)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Good understanding of health & safety regulations in industrial settings
  • Ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Numerate and IT literate (comfortable with logging data and using production systems)
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
  • Physically capable of working in a plant environment
