Job Description

Role: Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Devon - Paignton

Salary: £41,000 Basic Salary

Hours: 8:00 – 16:00

We are looking for a skilled and committed Maintenance Engineer to join our team. Offering a salary of £41,000, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience to play a key role in ensuring our machinery runs efficiently and safely.

You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and maintaining equipment to minimise downtime and enhance operational performance. A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a commitment to excellent customer service are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out day-to-day electrical and mechanical maintenance on injection moulding machinery and ancillary equipment to ensure uninterrupted production.

  • Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns, faults, and failures across plant equipment.

  • Assist in and carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Validate new plant equipment installations and upgrades.

  • Perform process and equipment troubleshooting and failure analysis.

  • Ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently.

  • Maintain detailed records of repairs, servicing, and maintenance for audit and traceability purposes.

  • Actively contribute to the improvement of equipment reliability and plant safety.

    Requirements:

  • Experience in plastic injection moulding machinery - Desirable

  • At least 3 years' hands-on experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance.

  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation controls.

  • Qualified electrician (16th, 17th, or 18th Edition regulations or equivalent).

  • Proven fault-finding and problem-solving skills, particularly with logic-based systems.

  • Experience in both reactive and preventative maintenance routines.

  • Strong team player with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
