Yolk Recruitment is working with an established international manufacturer to recruit an experienced Injection Moulding Technician for its South Wales operation.
The business has a long history of manufacturing in South Wales, excellent staff retention and a strong long-term order book. Recent investment includes five new injection moulding machines, and this is an opportunity to join an established technical team in a varied, hands-on role. You'll be responsible for setting, troubleshooting and optimising injection moulding processes, working across different machines to resolve production problems, improve quality and maintain reliable production.

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out mould tool changes, machine setting and process adjustments.
• Diagnosing and resolving injection moulding defects and production problems.
• Optimising process parameters to improve quality, cycle times and reduce scrap.
• Investigating issues with machinery, tooling and materials, working alongside Maintenance and Toolmaking colleagues where required.
• Supporting mould trials, process improvements and the introduction of new tooling.
• Sharing your technical knowledge with operators and less experienced setters.

What we're looking for

We're interested in speaking with experienced Injection Moulding Setters, Process Technicians or Process Engineers who have a strong practical understanding of injection moulding. You'll need:

• Experience setting and troubleshooting injection moulding machines.
• A good understanding of thermoplastic materials and moulding process parameters.
• The ability to diagnose defects and identify whether problems relate to the machine, tooling, material or process.
• Experience working across different machines, with the confidence to adapt your knowledge to unfamiliar equipment.
• A practical, methodical approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.

Salary & benefits

• £42,000 - £55,000 depending on experience.
• Permanent weekend days, Friday to Sunday, 7am - 7pm.
