Excellent opportunity for a Technologist to join a leading global manufacturing business working on a range of glass products offering the chance to stand a real mark on the decarbonisation of this industry, improve processes and operations, and to drive technical innovation.

This company is a world leader in advanced materials and manufacturing innovations, supplying the construction, automotive, and energy sectors amongst many others. They are on a mission to improve efficiencies and drive down the carbon cost of manufacturing glass globally.

In this role you will split your time between the R&D facility and a nearby factory. As and when required you will travel to global sites usually 1 longer trip (2 weeks) and 2 shorter ones (1 week) but times and requirements on that may vary. You'll look at all things equipment, processes, technology, and materials. This will be an office based position in Lathom and candidates must be able to drive and have their own vehicle.

The ideal candidate will have industrial experience within Glass Manufacturing, Metal Manufacturing/Metallurgy, Cement, or Chemicals, and hold a relevant degree. Candidates must be commutable to the Ormskirk area, have full right to work and remain in the UK, and have their own vehicle.

The Role:
*Develop and support flat glass forming and annealing technologies.
*Contribute to wider initiatives in decarbonisation, manufacturing efficiency, and product innovation.
*Provide technical support for production challenges and capital engineering projects (e.g. plant start-ups).
*Work collaboratively across multiple internal teams and international sites.
*Potential to have to travel overseas at short notice

The Person:
*Degree qualified in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience.
*Strong practical and theoretical understanding of forming and annealing processes.
*Excellent organisational, IT, and presentation skills.
*Confident communicator with strong problem-solving and influencing skills.
*Project management experience advantageous.
*Willingness to travel (UK and international).
