Engineering Supervisor
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 (depending on experience)

A leading UK manufacturer specialising in high-performance materials for the automotive sector is seeking a skilled and experienced Engineering Supervisor to join their growing team. This organisation is committed to pushing performance boundaries through innovation, sustainability, and investment in people and processes.
About the Role:
We’re looking for a seasoned Furnace Engineer with a strong background in high-temperature furnace systems and a passion for leadership. With over a decade of hands-on experience, you’ll take charge of a dedicated team of technicians in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead, develop and inspire a technical team, drive operational efficiency, and take ownership of maintenance and continuous improvement within furnace operations.
Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and coordinate a team of furnace technicians to ensure reliable daily operations

  • Mentor and develop team members through coaching and knowledge sharing

  • Plan and oversee preventative maintenance for vacuum and non-vacuum furnace systems

  • Respond to breakdowns swiftly, ensuring minimal downtime

  • Be available for out-of-hours support when urgent issues arise

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives for safety, reliability, and performance

  • Maintain a hands-on approach to technical problem-solving and equipment upkeep

Required Skills and Experience:


  • 10+ years of experience working with high-temperature furnaces (vacuum and non-vacuum)

  • Strong technical understanding of furnace systems and maintenance best practices

  • Demonstrated experience in leading or mentoring in a technical environment

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills

  • A calm, proactive, and hands-on approach under pressure

Desirable Qualifications:


  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials Engineering

  • Background in industrial or manufacturing environments

  • Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
