Expleo is proud to support a world-leading automotive manufacturer known for its dedication to excellence, innovation, and performance. Based in Sheffield, on a contract basis, we are looking for an experienced Composites Assembly Fitter to join a high-performing production team.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a background in composites, automotive, or high-end manufacturing, with strong skills in bonding, finishing, inspection, and assembly of composite components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply technical knowledge to safely and effectively carry out composite production processes - particularly bonding, finishing, and inspection.
  • Maintain the highest levels of quality assurance across all components produced.
  • Support the Team Leader in prioritising workloads and step in when required.
  • Actively contribute to the training and development of colleagues.
  • Ensure your work area is clean, safe, and aligned with brand standards.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve processes, quality, and efficiency.
  • Support all departmental processes and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Deliver against tight deadlines in a high-pressure production environment.

    Experience & Skills:
  • Previous experience in composites, automotive, or manufacturing (essential).
  • Familiarity with pre-preg materials and composite bonding processes.
  • Competence with air tools, hand tools, adhesives, and assembly practices.
  • Strong understanding of quality control and inspection processes.
  • Proven experience in fitting/assembly production roles with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and use own initiative.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings/specifications.
  • Confident with problem-solving and using PC-based systems (MS Office preferred).
