Project Coordinator

Location: Oxfordshire
Industry: Precision Engineering / Composites / CNC Machining
Salary: £35,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience)

Overview

A leading company within the precision engineering and composite machining sector is seeking an experienced and proactive Project Coordinator / Production Scheduler. This role is central to ensuring smooth project execution, managing production schedules, and delivering products on time and to specification. It requires a strong engineering background with an understanding of composite processes and CNC machining workflows, combined with excellent organisational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain the production schedule, ensuring strong on-time delivery (OTD) performance.

Release projects, procure materials, and oversee consignment stock.

Log and control all relevant documentation to ensure traceability and compliance.

Act as the main point of contact with customers from purchase order through to delivery.

Apply engineered solutions and generate accurate commercial quotations.

Understand customer requirements and deliver profitable, technically viable solutions.

Identify and mitigate technical and commercial risks associated with projects.

Oversee the logistics of goods in/out.

Collaborate with management and production teams to meet project milestones.

Support development of the CRM system to strengthen customer relationships.

Use CAD software to interrogate and analyse customer data.

Skills & Experience Required

Proven experience in project coordination or production scheduling within a manufacturing/engineering environment.

Strong scheduling, organisational, and communication skills.

Solid background in engineering with knowledge of composite processes and CNC machining workflows.

Ability to interrogate CAD models and understand downstream manufacturing processes.

Proven ability to manage projects, mitigate risks, and deliver against deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong problem-solving skills.

Resilient under pressure and able to respond quickly to challenges.

Competent in Microsoft Office suite.

Full UK driving licence (preferred, not essential).
