Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE

About the Role:

Our client, a leading provider in the construction and heavy equipment industry, is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Fitter to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, and servicing. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled technician to work with industry-leading equipment and advance their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct service, maintenance, and repair work on volumetric concrete mixers.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
Maintain technical expertise and stay updated on the latest advancements in mixer systems.
Perform occasional on-site repairs at customer locations, including travel when required.
Work flexible hours, including occasional out-of-hours work, as needed.
Accurately document all work performed, including parts used and services completed.
Assist in failure analysis to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
Ensure all work is carried out to the highest quality and safety standards.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a fitter, ideally working with heavy equipment brands such as CAT, JCB, John Deere, or Komatsu.
Strong electrical fault-finding skills.
Knowledge and experience with hydraulics and welding.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to workplace safety and following best practices.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend for long periods of time
Capable of lifting up to 30kg.
Comfortable working at heights of up to 5 meters and in confined spaces.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
