​The Through Life Support Engineer (TLSE) will provide the technical link between ILS delivery and Aftermarket support, ensuring that products and support solutions meet contractual and technical requirements. The TLSE will work with cross-functional teams to support procurement, validate alternative and obsolete items, and ensure overall product sustainment.
​Key skills include interpreting technical documentation, understanding product line data, and using military databases such as CSIS to support decision-making.

JOB DUTIES

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Aftermarket Sales, Engineering, ILS, and Procurement, to ensure seamless integration of Aftermarket support solutions.
  • Provide technical support for Aftermarket contracts and sales.
  • Support Procurement with technical sourcing and validation of components, including alternatives and obsolete items.
  • Act as the technical link between ILS, TLS, and Design teams, maintaining alignment across delivery functions.
  • Maintain accurate technical configurations and documentation to support procurement activity.
  • Apply knowledge of ILS tools such as Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Levels of Repair
  • Analysis (LORA), NATO codification, and packaging/handling standards.
  • Influence product design for supportability, identifying and managing the impact of design or product changes.
  • Use and maintain technical publications to ensure accuracy and configuration in support of Aftermarket sales.
  • Support ILS during product introduction, contributing to Aftermarket sales and ongoing product sustainment.
  • Conduct sourcing, validation, and engineering Verification and Validation tasks to ensure contract compliance.
  • Represent NP Aerospace as a technical subject matter expert (SME) in customer and supplier meetings.
  • Promote a “Design for Support” ethos across projects and the wider company.

    ​EXPERIENCE
    Essential:
  • Educated to a minimum of Framework Level 3 in an Engineering discipline.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and propose technical solutions.
  • Experience interpreting technical reports, drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly convey ideas, plans, and technical information.
  • Methodical approach with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact confidently with all levels of staff and customers, both internally and externally.
  • Aptitude or experience in interpreting technical engineering information.
  • Experience in commercial parts sourcing to meet specifications.
    Desirable:
  • Understanding of engineering principles, safety, obsolescence risk, and configuration control methodologies.
  • Ability to conduct cost analysis for aftermarket products to support profitability and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of MoD logistic support systems and tools such as CSIS, SS3, and JAMES.
  • Working knowledge of military vehicle maintenance and use of AESPs.
