Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, well versed in building 3D models, working in a fast-paced environment ready to join growing team. Our client is seeking someone who can lead the design and optimization of its Hydrogen production reactor and system, with the company focusing on developing low cost zero Carbon Hydrogen generators.
The company themselves are ever expanding, this is an opportunity to join an expanding organisation within the renewable sector based in South Yorkshire who are dedicated to delivering cost-effective solutions in renewable energy. We are committed to pioneering advancements in hydrogen applications and driving sustainability in the region
Essential Requirements / Experience:

A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent) or 5 years of experience in a related field.
Minimum of 3 years in an engineering design environment.
Proficiency in relevant software packages for drawing creation and management (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD 3D).
Familiarity with Hydrogen applications, solids handling, and microwave processes is highly desirable.
Additional advantageous qualifications/experience:
Experience with flammable gases in an ATEX/Ex environment.
Understanding of Hydrogen suitable metallurgy and material choices.
Previous experience at a senior level
Salary Package:

Starting Salary - £50,000 - £60,000 – (DOE)
Pension: Employer contributions of 5% alongside a 3% employee contribution.
Holiday: 25 days plus UK bank holidays.
Share option scheme.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Engineering Director, CTO, and other engineers to develop and test concepts for the microwave reactor and other key sub-systems.
Lead the integration of the reactor and sub-systems into containerized production systems.
Size equipment and create specifications for vendors.
Create general assembly drawings for the reactor and balance of plant sub-systems, integrating supplier drawings into company files.
Perform mechanical stress calculations to ensure correct specifications.
Liaise with vendors and manage technicians for mechanical fitting of components, including generating work instructions.
Ensure designs and built systems/components comply with relevant legislation and standards.
Support other staff in running equipment, including fault finding, data logger analysis, and system performance evaluation.
