Research Scientist – Polymer Chemistry
Location: London (On-site, R&D Laboratory – ideally 5 days per week)
Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)

A leading polymer manufacturer developing innovative solutions to help create a more sustainable future.

We are seeking a high-performing Research Scientist to join our London-based R&D team of 16 people in London (35 globally). Great role for a passionate scientist with a PhD in Polymer Chemistry who thrives in a hands-on lab environment.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct innovative research and development in polymer chemistry, focusing on next-generation biodegradable plastics.

Work with and maintain laboratory equipment, including troubleshooting and repairs.

Collaborate with a global team to design, execute, and analyse experiments.

Apply critical thinking and problem-solving to complex polymer science challenges.

Requirements

PhD in Polymer Chemistry (post-PhD experience beneficial).

Strong knowledge of polymer science; polyolefin expertise is highly advantageous.

Practical experience with laboratory equipment maintenance and repair is a huge plus.

Exceptional scientific and analytical skills with a proven ability to work independently.
