Quality Engineer

We're working with a leading UK manufacturer based in Wareham to find a skilled Quality Engineer. This is a full-time, permanent role supporting defence and aerospace projects.

You'll play a key part in ensuring product quality, maintaining the QMS, and driving improvements across the business. This role is perfect for someone with a strong quality background in engineering or manufacturing.

Salary: From £45,000 per year
Hours:

Monday-Thursday: 8am-5pm
Friday: 8am-2pm
Full-time, on-siteRequirements: You must be a sole UK passport holder (no dual nationality) and eligible for security clearance. Support will be provided for the vetting process.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
Inspect products and approve quality sign-off
Lead non-conformance and root cause investigations
Support First Article Inspections (FAIRs) to AS9102 standards
Work with engineering drawings and GD&T
Report on quality performance and drive continuous improvement
Create and manage inspection documents and plans

What We're Looking For

Experience working with AS9100 standards
Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
Confident with quality inspections, reporting, and problem-solving
Experience with root cause analysis and quality tools
Proactive, independent, and team-orientedDesirable but not essential:

Auditor qualification (AS9100)
Experience with composites or aerospace
CMM, PolyWorks, or laser tracker knowledge
Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement background
