Position Overview
My client are an almost 100 year old engineering company seeking a Project/Development Engineer to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from the initial enquiry through to the production phase, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions across multiple industries, including Defence, rail, Formula 1, and aerospace. This is an excellent opportunity to join a market leader and to work on projects in some of the most critical and exciting industries in the world.
Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee projects from initial enquiry to production, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Accurately price jobs by assessing project requirements and resources needed.
  • Devise innovative solutions to meet project specifications and challenges.
  • Conduct detailed FEA to predict how products will react to real-world forces, vibration, heat, and other physical effects.
  • Perform strain analysis to evaluate the deformation of materials and components under stress.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients to understand their needs and provide regular project updates.
  • Work closely with various departments, including design, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless project execution.
    Qualifications and Skills
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related time served apprenticeship
  • Understanding of engineering processes and techniques
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of composites would be a distinct advantage
  • Knowledge of FEA and stress analysis
  • Must be able to pass security clearance
