Head of Product Management

Location: Office Based in Cambridge - Hybrid

A great opportunity for an ambitious Product Manager with a technical and commercial background in chemical supply and distribution. Our client is a rapidly expanding chemical distributor looking for a Head of Product Management. As part of the executive leadership team you will manage the product management and quality team. You will be expected to use your technical knowledge in chemistry together with your commercial experience to identify and solve problems and set priorities for your teams. Continuous improvement of processes and procedures both within the department and cross-department will also be a key component of the role.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Support and encourage team development, training and setting standards, instilling stability and team spirit.
  
  
• Develop and execute product strategies and define KPIs and roles and responsibilities.
  
  
• Develop strong relationships with suppliers.
  
  
• Develop appropriate pricing structures and monitor market trends, competitor pricing and customer demand.
  
  
• Support marketing and customer communication.
  
  
• Lead initiatives to enhance product quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
  
  Technical Skills:
  
  
• Chemistry degree or equivalent.
  
  
• Knowledge of adhesives, coatings, composites, construction or food manufacturing markets would be an advantage.
  
  
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar management role such as product management, supplier management or project management.
  
  
• Capacity to manage multiple projects.
  
  Candidate Requirements:
  
  
• Preferred 5 years in the chemical (distribution) industry.
  
  
• Ability to work both as part of a team and on own initiative with excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  
  
• Demonstrate excellent leadership, setting the standard for team behaviours.
  
  
• Must have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available
