Job Title: Coachbuilder
Location: Croydon
Salary: £33,000 - £35,000 per annum + Overtime + Benefits
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (Day and Shift work available)

We are seeking a motivated Semi-Skilled Coach Builder to join a leading Rolling Stock engineering team based in Croydon. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of rail vehicle refurbishment, maintenance and upgrade projects.
You will be assisting with structural repairs, interior fitting, cladding, flooring, seating and door components across modern rolling stock. Training will be provided — this is an ideal role for candidates with transferable skills from coachbuilding, HGV, commercial vehicles, aerospace or body repair backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities of the Coachbuilder:

Assist in the build and refurbishment of train carriages and rolling stock
Carry out structural and non-structural repairs
Fit and install internal components (panels, flooring, ceilings, seating, partitions)
Strip-out and refit components during major overhaul programmes
Basic welding, riveting and fabrication work
Assist skilled Coach Builders on more complex structural work
Work from technical drawings, job cards and specifications
Basic MIG/TIG welding skills
Riveting experience
Ability to read engineering drawingsRequirements of the Coachbuilder:

Experience in coachbuilding, vehicle body repair, HGV, commercial vehicle or similar trade
Ability to use hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
Competent in working with metals, wood, plastics and composites
Good attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
Able to follow instructions and work to deadlines
Willingness to learn and develop new skills
Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
