Job Title: Chemical Process Engineer
Location: Stonehouse, Gloucester
Salary: DOE
Reports To: Technical Director
Job Type: Full-Time

Equipment Operation and Optimization:

Setup, validate and monitor wet chemical processes.
Program and adjust parameters to optimize performance and quality.
Own and maintain process control strategies across multiple wet process lines (Pre-clean, DES, Electroplating, Surface Finishing).
Define and document work instructions and maintenance procedures.
Maintain and optimize chemical dosing and replenishment systems to ensure chemical stability and bath performance.Process Development and Improvement:

Analyse production data to identify areas for improvement.
Implement process changes to enhance quality and efficiency.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to implement process changes and validate improvements.
Support new product introduction (NPI) with process capability evaluations and risk assessments.
Monitor, analyse, and improve key process parameters, using statistical process control tools.
Interface with equipment and chemical suppliers to evaluate and introduce new process technologies.Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Perform routine maintenance on wet process lines.
Liaise with maintenance team for servicing, repairs and upgrades.
Support root cause investigations for process deviations.Safety and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Support in COSHH and Risk assessment generation.
Stay updated on industry standards and best practices.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including chemical storage.
Manage waste chemical collections.
Communication with chemical and waste management suppliersskills
Strong understanding of chemical wet process line operation and maintenance.
Familiarity with chemical auto-dosing systems, including setup and calibration.
Experience in laboratory working methods.
Technical troubleshooting, process optimisation & validation.
Knowledge of CAD/CAM and understanding of technical drawings.
Data analysis and interpretation.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to drive projects independently.
Proficient in using data collection systems, process monitoring software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with SPC tools, 5S, Six Sigma and root cause analysis.
Documentation and record-keeping.
Safety and environmental compliance.
Fast learner with a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Self-disciplined and able to work with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and leadership skills.QUALIFICATIONS
A degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
NVQ and BTEC training levels with a high level of experience within chemical engineering will be considered.Experience
Experience in electronic, PCB or general complex manufacturing environment.
strong focus on wet chemical processing, preferably in PCB or flexible circuit manufacturing.
Solid understanding of wet chemistry, chemical interactions, and solution stability in manufacturing environments.
Proven expertise in operating and controlling metal etching, plating, and surface treatment lines.
Experience with automated chemical dosing and bath monitoring systems.
Experience controlling and maintaining waste-water treatment systems using ionic exchange vessels.
Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations related to chemical handling and disposalpackage
Salary: competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays.
