Job Title: Auto Electrical Technician – Military Vehicle Systems
Location: Coventry CV6
Vacancy Type: Full-time, Temp/Contract (6 months).
Salary: £19 per hour (Fixed-Term Contract with benefits) OR £25 per hour (Ltd Company Contractor)

NP Aerospace is looking for skilled Auto Electrical Technician to support high-priority defence vehicle programmes in our Coventry facility. These temporary roles place you at the heart of our vehicle integration teams, where precision wiring, system installation, and mission-critical reliability come together.

Contract Options
We’re offering two engagement routes, depending on how you want to work:

  • £19 per hour on a Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) with NP Aerospace – including full employee benefits (see below)
  • £25 per hour if you join as a Ltd Company Contractor (outside IR35)

    What you’ll be doing
    You’ll be part of a specialist production team, installing and testing bespoke electrical systems on low-volume, high-specification defence vehicles.​
  • Install MOTS/COTS electrical systems for survivability and mission-critical functions
  • Assemble and route electrical looms, harnesses, and sub-systems to precise standards
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings and manage Bills of Materials (BoMs)
  • Conduct loom manufacture and bench modification of electro-mechanical sub-systems
  • Support prototype development alongside the Electrical Design team
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles and contribute to process improvements
  • Work safely, consistently, and with pride in delivering vehicles that protect lives

    What you’ll bring
    We’re looking for hands-on technicians with proven experience in electrical system installation and repair.
  • HNC or equivalent in Automotive Electrical Systems installation and repair
  • Experience in low-volume or specialist vehicle manufacturing
  • Understanding of OEM automotive systems and military specification radios/sub-systems
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic interference and its impact on networks
  • Strong fault-finding ability using electrical theory and diagnostic principles
  • A proactive, team-focused attitude with excellent attention to detail
