Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (subject to experience)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and Update Inventory Records – Ensure accurate, real-time inventory tracking, minimising discrepancies and optimising stock management. Continuously review processes to improve data integrity and efficiency.

  • Conduct Regular Inventory Audits – Perform scheduled cycle counts and full stock audits to verify accuracy, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to maintain optimal inventory levels.

  • Monitor and Report Stock Levels – Provide detailed reports on stock status, highlighting cycle count discrepancies, usage trends, and potential shortages to support accurate production planning and decision-making.

  • Lead and Develop the Materials Control Team – Manage, mentor, and support team members, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.

  • Coordinate with Procurement – Work closely with procurement to ensure timely and planned material deliveries, proactively addressing stock shortages and supplier performance issues.

  • Oversee Supplier Receipts – Ensure all incoming materials are received efficiently, accurately, and with complete documentation, reducing delays and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

  • Optimise Storage and Material Issuance – Implement best practices for efficient storage, handling, and distribution of materials using the company’s ERP system. Drive improvements to reduce waste, improve accessibility, and enhance traceability.

  • Collaborate with Production Control – Align material availability with production schedules, ensuring seamless operations, minimising downtime, and proactively identifying risks to production continuity.

  • Drive Process Improvements – Identify and implement lean methodologies, automation, and best practices to enhance inventory control, reduce costs, and improve material flow throughout the facility.

  • Maintain a Safe, Organised, and Efficient Work Environment – Enforce workplace safety protocols, ensure all stock is clearly labelled and properly stored, and promote a culture of continuous improvement in material handling and storage practices.

    CRITICAL OUTPUTS

    Reporting of Key Performance Indicators detailing inventory levels, Inventory availability and Inventory accuracy.

    Work with the Supply Chain Director in Implementing improved Inventory policies and procedures in support of growing and widening business activities.

    Support the business with the introduction of a new ERP system, utilising technology to assist improved inventory control.



    EXPERIENCE

    Experience of leading a successful team within a Materials Control role, ideally based in a Production Stores environment.

    Experience in the implementation and use of modern software tools and technology, demonstrating the benefits delivered.
