Polypipe Building Products are focused on delivering solutions to the residential sector. Polypipe Building Products works with national and local developers, plumbing and heating engineers, general builders and groundworkers to deliver above and below ground drainage systems, rainwater solutions as well as hot and cold plastic plumbing products.

Role overview: The Site Manager will be responsible for leading and managing production at the Neale Road site, coaching and managing their resources to drive all operational metrics to ensure all monthly key performance indicators are met in line with Building Products clear targets. This will be delivered through continuous improvement methodologies and underpinned by clear HSE standards, whilst ensuring legal compliance at every level.

Key Responsibilities:



To plan, budget and deliver the manufacturing strategy ensuring the optimisation of manufacturing in the supply chain to deliver exceptional customer service.

To develop strategic and operating plans to ensure that the company has the appropriate resources to support current forecasted business and projected growth.

*

To continually analyse our manufacturing model and in conjunction with our partners in the supply chain drive out all no-value adding activity using lean management techniques whilst maintaining focus on our customers’ needs.

*

Establish the strategy, develop the roadmap, and lead the implementation to realize a highly efficient, supply chain integrated, manufacturing capability at Neale Road delivering exceptional customer service.

*

Establish appropriate processes for manufacturing management including, the identification of new manufacturing technology and techniques that support and transform existing production and new product development initiatives.

*

Lead and optimise our Continuous Improvement programme within manufacturing using the appropriate continuous improvement techniques to accelerate our journey toward world class manufacturing.

*

Management of the team, including coaching, motivation, appraisals, reviews, KPI’s, one-2-one meetings, disciplinary matters and grievances as required.

*

Develop and manage manufacturing KPI’s that are consistently and rigorously delivered, through problem solving and coaching of the team.

*

Continue to develop and manage Safe Systems of Work for all tasks.

*

Drive behavioural based safety throughout the plant and ensure Loss Time Injury target rates are adhered to.

*

Oversee and review root cause analysis data and identify trends that indicate a change in performance and implement an action plan accordingly.

Skills & Experience:

*

Extensive manufacturing experience with a proven management record, ideally in an FMCG or chemicals environment.

*

Preferable to have manufacturing experience in extrusion, injection moulding, tool making and automation with in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of commodity and engineering polymers.

*

Management experience of large teams, in excess of 100.

*

Has a proven track record of defining and executing a clear site strategy which engages the workforce.

*

A proven track record of delivering success in other sizeable operational leadership roles, this role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and how to continually improve them.

*

Demonstration of clear structured problem solving to deliver defined tangible results.

*

Able to demonstrate the development and maintenance of strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.

*

In-depth knowledge of best practice ERP systems.

*

Significant experience in delivering continuous improvement techniques.

*

In-depth knowledge of H&S and Environmental requirements

*

Has drive, ambition, with a “can do attitude”, that is infectious with their own team and peer group.

*

Well educated, ideally to degree level in a technical discipline

Working hours & Benefits:

Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, site based
