Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Marine Draughtsperson to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality fabrication, machining, assembly, and structural drawings for large Yachts and Ships, working to standards such as Lloyd’s Register and DNV. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on understanding of marine engineering principles, including corrosion protection, weld preparation, and the use of marine-grade materials, as well as the ability to contribute to product development and design improvements.
Key Responsibilities

Create and develop steel, stainless steel, and aluminum fabricated structures to meet classification body requirements.
Produce detailed technical drawings using a major CAD system (preferably NX, but AutoCAD with a willingness to learn NX and Teamcenter is acceptable).
Ensure drawings meet GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards and are optimized for Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
Conduct basic hand calculations for fastener sizing, structural stress, and related engineering considerations.
Apply a comprehensive understanding of marine-grade materials, welding, bonding, fastening, and corrosion protection techniques.
Support the development of innovative marine solutions, collaborating closely with design and manufacturing teams.
Maintain compliance with relevant standards and classifications, including Lloyd’s Register and DNV.Qualifications and Skills
Required:

A degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Marine, or Aerospace Engineering.
Extensive experience using a major CAD system (NX preferred) to produce precise and professional drawings.
Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and their application in design.
Excellent understanding of materials science, welding, bonding, fastening, and related fabrication techniques.Desirable:

Familiarity with workshop processes, including fabrication and CNC machining.
Knowledge of Teamcenter and Siemens Simcenter software.
Understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes, especially within a marine context.Personal Attributes:
